The Afghan student society at Brunel University have pledged to fully sponsor a vulnerable child with disabilities and special needs for a total of 3 years at the Window of Hope carehome in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The child will be under the care of the Enabled Children initiative working in collaboration with Afghan Charity Week (ACW).
80% of the Afghan population live with some form of disability. From this, 17% are children who are often isolated and deprived of their right to an education and a childhood. This number and this issue can’t be overlooked.
Full sponsorship will cover the healthcare and the education costs of the child for the duration time specified. This will include healthcare costs such as long-term treatment, doctor visits and checkups, salaries of healthcare professionals giving them personalised care (physiotherapist, family councillors, etc.) and more! With regards to education, the costs of uniform, stationary, tuition fees, internships etc. will be aided.
We will be sharing the journey and updating you all with the results of our fundraising with ACW, and we hope to bring happiness and laughter back into the children’s lives by supporting them.
Every little counts. Please share and donate!
